How to procure the services the Bureau of Royal Thai Mint for the manufacture of custom-made products
1. Royal orders and decorations
Order from the Secretariat of the Cabinet
2. Medals of honor
Clients (government sector only) have to follow the steps below
2.1 Place an order for medals of honor, specifying types, amount, and words to be engraved.
2.2 The Bureau of the Royal Thai Mint will send a quotation and payment conditions; conditions include the payment of 50% of the total price in advance (in compliance with the Ministry of Finance Document issued MOF 0404/42720, dated 5 November, 1975).
3. Made-to- order products
For medals, the clients (government sector, state enterprises, and the private sector) have to follow the steps below:
3.1 For patterns and designs related to the royal family:
(1) The clients place an order for the medals, specifying the design on the obverse and reverse of the medals, types of metal to be used, size, weight, amount, and the delivery date.
(2) The Bureau of the Royal Thai Mint will propose the project for the consideration of the Commemorative Coins or Medals Advisory Committee.
(3) The Bureau of the Royal Thai Mint will send the pattern and design approved by the committee to the clients in order for the client to request royal permission for production.
(4) The Bureau of the Royal Thai Mint will send the quotation and payment conditions, including the payment of 50% of the total price in advance (in compliance with the Ministry of Finance Official Document issued MOF 0404/42720, dated 5 November, 1975).
Moreover, the Bureau of the Royal Thai Mint will ask for the right to manufacture medals according to the Regulations of the Treasury Department on Criteria for the Manufacturing of Commemorative Coins and Medals, B.E. 2542 (1999), Number. 19, stating that the clients have to provide two sets of the medals ordered to the Treasury Department a historical record, except for coins and medals that are specifically produced in order to present to the royal family and valuable metal coins; in the latter case, the Treasury Department will ask for the right to manufacture a specimen . When the clients confirm the order, a copy of the document granting royal permission must be given to the Bureau of the Royal Mint.
3.2 For general patterns and designs:
(1) The clients place an order for the medals, specifying the pattern on the obverse and reverse of the medals, types of metal to be used, size, weight, amount, and the delivery date.
(2) The Bureau of the Royal Thai Mint will send a quotation and payment conditions, including the payment of 50% of the total price in advance (in compliance with the Ministry of Finance Official Document issued MOF 0404/42720, dated 5 November, 1975). Moreover, the Bureau of the Royal Thai Mint will ask for the right to manufacture medals according to the Regulations of the Treasury Department on Criteria for the Manufacturing of Commemorative Coins and Medals, B.E. 2542 (1999), No. 19, stating that the clients have to provide two sets of the medals ordered to the Treasury Department as historical record, except for coins and medals that are specifically produced in order to present to the royal family and valuable metal coins; in the latter case, the Treasury Department will ask for the right to manufacture a specimen.
3.3 Coins with an image of the Buddha
(1) The clients place an order for the medals, specifying the pattern on the obverse and reverse of the medals, types of metal to be used, size, weight, amount, and the deliverydate. This must be accompanied by written consent form from the abbot with the official seal of the temple.
(2) The Bureau of the Royal Thai Mint will send a quotation and payment conditions, including the payment of 50% of the total price in advance (in compliance with the Ministry of Finance Official Document issued MOF 0404/42720, dated 5 November 1975). Moreover, the Bureau of the Royal Thai Mint will ask for the right to manufacture medals according to the Regulations of the Treasury Department on Criteria for the Manufacturing of Commemorative Coins and Medals, B.E. 2542 (1999), No. 19, stating that the clients have to provide two sets of the medals ordered to the Treasury Department as an historical record, except for coins and medals that are specifically produced in order to present to the royal family and valuable metal coins; in the latter case, the Treasury Department will ask for the right to manufacture a specimen .
